West Yorkshire v North Yorkshire 'B'                         (18-12-22)

So the pre-xmas match v North Yorkshire was upon on us in a game we were looking for a good score from. The team was changed from the previous Staffordshire game too. 5 changes were made to try maximise damage.

Glennys Ash was brought into the triples as a direct replacement for the Ill Tony Farrar, as was David Johnson, with Elaine Hill, Phil Thornton and Mayveen Tomlinson all coming into the fours.

Singles

======

A salvaged draw from Tom Morris against Robin Boddy was it in the singles, Twice Tom pulled back what looked like an unassailable lead before surviving a last bowl from Robin as it sailed through the head for a point.

Pairs

====

A clean sweep in the pairs for the blue and Amber of West Yorkshire, I don't think I've played as good (been a long time since I said that!) Glen Scott was on point as Matthew and Darren did the business and played very well to win both their games.

Triples

======

The triples was a good contest throughout, Andy Miles, skipping in this 1 with David Johnson and Andrea Chiverton for company got a draw in their 1st game which from 3-10 down after 6 ends is quite an achievement, Daniel Sands, Dave Fletcher and Glennys Ash won both their games in superb style.

Fours

======

A win and a loss apiece for our fours, Kathryn Jones, playing through the pain barrier, skipped well and with Mayveen Tomlinson leading in her 1st A team county game played very well also with some good lead off touchers. Sneaking the aggregate by just 2 shots aswell.

Analysis

-------------

I'd of liked 30 points today but for some good bowling, mainly  from North Yorkshire's singles we could of been on for that, Our singles gave it their all no doubt but even the luck desserted them for large periods of the game. But there were some notable other performances from West Yorkshire, namely those that stepped into play, Glennys Ash, a gritty lass who was a bit nervous at the start, played superbly leading for Daniel Sands with Dave Fletcher in the triples, Elaine Hill in a makeshift 4 of Phil Thornton, Steve Caley and Dennis Walters played well too. So it wasn't a bad result today.

Final Score from Armley then:

West Yorkshire       24

North Yorkshire B  16

I wish you all a great Xmas and we'll do it all again next year
